Mistakes of the past by Patricia Josephine
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Luc is living in a small town under the pretense of being a father at the local Catholic Church. His father has given him the chance to make up for his mistakes and Luc is striving to atone for his past, but things start to go wrong.
First, Rose shows up. Immediately the two are attracted to one another, causing Luc to question his vow of celibacy. Then someone from Luc’s past shows up, trying to entice Luc into his old ways. Rose is unexpectedly pulled into Luc’s past and in order to save her, Luc will have to reveal his true identity and give up his chance at redemption. What will he choose?
This story is beautifully written and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I completely fell in love with Luc and Rose and their love story. Patricia did a lovely job keeping her reader interested and involved in the story. The imagery was beautiful and the story was very detailed.
First, I didn’t realize how short the story was. When I got to the end I was kind of mad that it was over. I understand that the story was done and not much else could have been added, but I wanted to know more.
Second, when Luc finally reveals his true identity, Rose is so quick to except it. I don’t want to spoil anything for readers, but if it had been me, it would have taken a lot more convincing.
This story is definitely worth a read. If you love a good romance story with a twist, you will love this one. Take my advice and go buy your copy today.
“Life in Thornwood was slow and mundane. It had taken Luc time to adjust to the routine, but once he had he cherished every second. This was life in all its glory. He was blessed to be allowed to experience it.”
“‘It is okay to be sad,’ Luc said softly. ‘One lifetime never feels like enough time.'”
“Going to clubs in the city, she had learned how to dance, but for this small town’s sake, she’d keep it toned down. She didn’t need to make anyone’s grandma faint.”
